Mid-Level Investment Professional – Secondary Team (SF Office)

Industry Ventures is a multi-strategy venture capital investment firm that invests in high-growth startups and venture capital funds. Our experienced team of 27 investment professionals, headquartered in San Francisco, manages over $8B in capital commitments. Our Secondary Fund focuses on late-stage venture capital investments, targeting top-tier private, venture-backed companies. The strategy encompasses:

• Limited Partnership Secondaries – Acquiring interests in venture funds.

• Direct Secondaries – Purchasing stock directly from shareholders.

• GP-Led Secondaries – Providing tailored liquidity and fund level solutions.

Currently, the team is deploying Industry Ventures Secondary Fund X, a $1.5 billion 2024 vintage fund with significant dry powder for future investments. Our emphasis remains on de-risked, late-stage assets, typically three to five years from an IPO or M&A exit.

Position Description

We are seeking a Mid-Level Investment Professional to join our dynamic and experienced Secondary Team. This individual will play a key role in sourcing, analyzing, and executing investments, while managing deal processes end-to-end. The role also includes mentoring junior team members, supporting operational initiatives, and contributing to firm-level projects, including fundraising and existing LP relations. This position is designed as a 3–4 year role with potential for career progression based on performance and firm needs. Compensation includes a competitive base salary and a performance-based annual bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead investment processes, including due diligence on venture funds and portfolio companies.

• Source and evaluate new opportunities through proactive outreach and relationship-building.

• Mentor, manage, and train junior team members.

• Analyze market trends and develop investment theses around emerging tech sectors and high-growth

companies.

• Represent the firm at annual meetings, investor conferences, and events.

• Monitor and manage existing portfolio holdings.

• Assist with investor relations, including fundraising support, annual meetings, and quarterly reporting.
