Industry Ventures Expands Team To Keep Pace with Investment Opportunities

Big Data and Electronic Payments-Veteran Trevor Rubel Joins as Venture Partner; Kunal Jain Joins as Associate

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – September 9, 2013 – Industry Ventures LLC, a leading investment firm for venture capital, today announced the appointment of Trevor Rubel as a Venture Partner, strengthening the team’s expertise in big data and payments. Additionally, Kunal Jain was appointed as an Associate to further bolster the investment team’s focus on helping venture capital investors generate liquidity from existing investments.

Prior to joining Industry Ventures, Rubel held several senior positions at Bank of America Merchant Services, including EVP of product, strategy and business development. He was also a senior executive at First Data Corporation, running information services and international financial services products. Prior to that, Rubel was chief strategy officer and VP of products at Intelligent Results and director of product strategy at Personify. Rubel earned a B.S. in Communications from the University of Washington.

In his new role as Venture Partner, Rubel will focus on identifying and executing direct secondary and co-investments into leading companies in the payments and big data sectors. Additionally, Rubel will work with general partners and their portfolio companies to evaluate capital needs and co-investment opportunities. Based in the Seattle area, Rubel will also help increase Industry Ventures’ presence in the Pacific Northwest.

Prior to joining Industry Ventures, Jain worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Moelis and Company. At Moelis, Jain was a key member on the deal teams that restructured VC funds, managed due diligence and analytics processes, as well as created liquidity analysis. Jain earned a B.S in Economics and a Markets and Management Studies Certificate from Duke University, with Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude honors.
